Youth Muay Thai fighters are invited to compete in the 'Thailand Youth Championships' with a grand prize of 1.5 million baht and a quota to represent the Thai national flag at the World Championship in Greece.
According to "Sergeant Dollar" Lieutenant General Patchara Rattakul, CEO of Haadthip Public Company Limited and newly appointed chairman of the Muay Thai Sports Promotion Committee of the Muay Thai Sports Association of Thailand, the goal is to implement a three-year strategy to build a foundation for youth to advance toward inclusion in future Olympic competitions.
Lieutenant General Patchara Rattakul has initiated his first project by collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), and the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF) to organize the 2026 Thailand Youth Muay Thai Championships. This event aims to select youth Muay Thai athletes to represent Thailand at the 2026 IFMA Youth World Championships, held in Olympia, Greece, from 6-16 November 2026.
The 2026 Thailand Youth Muay Thai Championships will be grandly held at Ayutthaya Hall, Central Plaza Shopping Mall, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, from 16-20 October 2026, offering total prize money exceeding 1.5 million baht. The competition categories are as follows:
Muay Thai categories for male and female individuals aged under 14 (12-13 years old): male weight classes are 36, 38, 40, and 42 kg; female weight classes are 36, 38, and 40 kg.
Muay Thai categories for male and female individuals aged under 16 (14-15 years old): male weight classes are 42, 45, 48, and 51 kg; female weight classes are 45, 48, and 51 kg.
Muay Thai categories for male and female individuals aged under 18 (16-17 years old): male weight classes are 45, 48, 51, and 54 kg; female weight classes are 45, 48, and 51 kg.
The Wai Kru category is divided into three age groups: U-14 (12-13 years), U-16 (14-15 years), and U-18 (16-17 years), each with male and female divisions.
Prize money for winners is as follows: champions receive a certificate and 10,000 baht; runners-up receive a certificate and 5,000 baht; third place includes two prizes of 2,500 baht each.
Eligible athletes must be affiliated with member clubs of the Muay Thai Sports Association of Thailand, government agencies, private organizations, provincial sports associations, or registered Muay Thai camps, in accordance with the Muay Thai Sports Act of 1999.
Applications can be submitted from now until 10 October 2026, between 08:30 and 16:00, excluding public holidays, at the Muay Thai Sports Association of Thailand office, or by mail to 286 Rajamangala National Stadium, 200-Bed Athlete Dormitory Building, Ramkhamhaeng Road, Hua Mak Subdistrict, Bang Kapi District, Bangkok 10240, or by email to muaythaiamtat@gmail.com.
The team managers' meeting and draw will take place on 15 October 2026 at Ayutthaya Hall, Central Plaza, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, from 13:00 to 16:00, with the competition starting on 16 October.
