Joshua Robert Atkinson, a 23-year-old Thai-Australian runner and holder of four gold medals from the 2021 SEA Games, finished first in the final with a personal best time of 44.90 seconds.
Joshua Robert Atkinson also made history as the first Thai runner to win gold in the men's 400 meters at the Asian Games, securing Thailand's 8th gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
The silver medal was claimed by Suleiman Abdulrahman from the United Arab Emirates (44.99 seconds), while the bronze went to Yuki Joseph Nakajima from Japan (45.22 seconds).
