Water and Kindness of Thai Football Fans!!

"Water and Kindness" of Thai Football Fans!!

"Floods, I think, are better than drought.

I believe drought is worse than flood.

This year’s floods brought every household tears along with the water.

People fled water rising to their rooftops, tears flowing like a stream.”

Today's Thairath Newspaper Column in the sports section opens with the immortal song “Flood” by Sorkeeree Sriprajuab.

Following this year's flooding situation in our country,

many families have endured severe hardship.

However, one positive aspect of each major flood event

is that we see the "water of spirit and kindness" from our fellow citizens.

They display unity by coming out to help wholeheartedly without prior arrangement.

All sectors, professions, and social classes join forces to lend a hand,

so that the crisis we face can be resolved,

and we can get through it as quickly as possible.

Similarly, in Thai football, many clubs have united—players, management, and fans alike—

standing alongside the people in affected areas admirably.

For example, Ratchaburi FC, led by “Sia Fluke” Thanawat Nitikarnjana, the club's chairman,

brought the team to five flood-impacted locations in Ratchaburi Province: Chompratad, Wat Pleng, Koh San Phra, Ban Rai, and Lum Din.

Similarly, Muang Thai Insurance, main sponsor of Port FC,

along with the Singha Port supporters group led by their cheering president,

joined forces with the Madame Pang Foundation to continuously assist flood victims.

They delivered freshly prepared boxed meals from 'Madame's Kitchen' along with drinking water from Muang Thai Insurance,

to ease hardships and send encouragement to everyone.

Meanwhile, True Bangkok United is another major club sending strong support to Bangkok flood victims.

They sent three foreign players to represent the team in donating essential items through the “CP Volunteer” project.

Notably, the club chairman, Kajorn Chiaravanont, an executive of the Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group,

was pictured personally visiting flood areas,

to help residents submerged in water in Phan Thong district, Chonburi Province.

The CP Group joined forces with the Naval Special Warfare Command, the Naval Fleet, and Phan Thong district,

delivering aid to the affected communities, ensuring concern and assistance reached all impacted areas.

They went door to door distributing "morale-boosting bags" to help alleviate distress.

Additionally, CP Extra extended care in another way,

by providing fresh ingredients and seasonings to Phan Thong district's central kitchen,

for preparing cooked meals to distribute to affected residents.

This helped deliver both "essential supplies" and "meals" to people when they needed help most.

Because on days when many face great difficulty,

knowing that others stand beside them is a vital source of encouragement.

CP Volunteer is committed to continuing good deeds, uniting all sectors,

to send care to those affected by disasters,

and to overcome all situations together.

This is the great “water and kindness” from people in the Thai football community,

which we should admire and applaud loudly.
