Somkiat Aims to Score Points in Final Round of 2026 World Superbike Championship

Thai rider Somkiat Chantra aims to score points in the final round of the 2026 World Superbike Championship.

The final round of the 2026 World Superbike Championship is scheduled from 16-18 October at Circuito de Jerez - Ángel Nieto in Spain, attracting motorsport fans worldwide.

Recently, "Kong" Somkiat Chantra, the Thai rider bearing number 35 from the Honda HRC factory team, along with his team and British teammate Jake Dixon, number 96, have arrived at the circuit to prepare for this weekend's event.

After an impressive performance at the previous round at Circuito Estoril in Portugal, Somkiat has worked hard with his team to significantly improve the Honda CBR1000RR-R, with race results clearly showing progress.

The popular Thai rider said, "For this final race weekend at Jerez, I hope we can continue our progress. Unfortunately, I was unable to participate in testing at Jerez in January due to injury, but I know the circuit well. So I hope this familiarity will help us just as it did at Estoril, where we scored points in both races and I gained several positions, especially on Sunday."

"That was a positive sign, but I know there are still areas to improve, from practice to racing, including race starts, as that can make a big difference. This weekend, I will try to apply everything I've learned, working with the team to steadily improve step by step and finish the season on a strong note," the Thai rider concluded.

Somkiat is scheduled for official practice on Friday, 16 October, followed by the Superpole qualifying on Saturday, 17 October, and the first race at 20:30 Thailand time the same day.

The Superpole Race will take place on Sunday, 18 October at 16:10, concluding with the second race at 20:30.
