The southern flood situation has escalated. Songkhla FC has revealed that more than 15 coaches and players remain trapped inside a four-story building in central Hat Yai, lacking food and communication signals, and urgently awaiting rescue.
On 25 Nov 2025 GMT+7, the flood crisis in southern Thailand remains severe, especially in Songkhla province, where water levels have risen above 2.5 meters in some areas. Although authorities began evacuating residents on 24 Nov 2025 GMT+7, many areas remain inaccessible to aid as water levels continue to rise worryingly.
Among those directly affected is Songkhla FC, a well-known Thai League 2 team, whose staff, coaches, and over 15 players are trapped in heavily flooded areas of Hat Yai district, with no agency yet able to reach them.
“Khun Cha,” a club official, told Thairath Sport that the coaching staff and players are sheltering inside a gray four-story building behind Hat Yai College on Niphat Songkroh 5 Road, which is surrounded by floodwaters on all sides.
The situation is worsening as water levels have nearly reached the second floor, leaving only the last three steps dry before water could rise further. Food supplies are critically low, and no external distribution has occurred.
Internet has been cut off, communication signals are failing, and phone power banks are running low, making it difficult to call for help.
Relevant agencies continue coordinating and seeking ways to access the high-risk area, while the Songkhla FC team and many residents await assistance amid a situation where every minute is crucial to safety.
