Songkhla FC Appeals to Hat Yai Residents to Stop Attacking Rescue Officials After Jet Ski Rescue Team Faces Gunfire While Assisting Flood Victims

Songkhla FC appeals to residents of Hat Yai not to harm rescue officials after a jet ski rescue team assisting flood victims was shot at from behind, forcing Zone 8 to withdraw from the high-risk area.

On 27 Nov 2025 GMT+7, a jet ski rescue team faced obstruction and attacks from some flood victims while surveying and preparing to distribute food aid. For example, the rescue unit led by "Rong Eiad Nong Thong," a team from Phuket, was shot at from behind by dissatisfied individuals, forcing an urgent withdrawal from the area.

This incident was revealed by Facebook user Wipawinee Srichuthong, who posted: "Zone 8 jet ski was shot at twice from behind; a flat-bottomed boat was struck on the head. Rong Eiad Nong Thong’s team has withdrawn safely."

Additionally, the Sankampang Rescue Association from Chiang Mai was fired upon with about two magazines (nearly 20 rounds) and had to deploy a drone to warn and demand the shooting stop immediately.

However, a second round of about four shots occurred later when the team returned to provide further support. The team leader then ordered all missions to cease that evening to ensure the safety of all personnel.

Recently, Songkhla FC issued a plea asking people not to harm the officials, stating: "People of Hat Yai, please don’t hurt these brothers. They are here to help; everyone is trying hard to evacuate us. It’s extremely exhausting."
