What Happened? Ultras Thailand Issues 3-Point Statement Refusing to Cheer for Thai National Team at SEA Games 2025. The fan group announced their position clearly.
On 1 Dec 2025 GMT+7, Ultras Thailand, a well-known Thai national football fan group, released their latest stance: they will not enter stadiums to support the Thai national football and futsal teams at the 2025 SEA Games. This is due to disagreement with rights violations stemming from mandatory spectator registration rules.
The 33rd SEA Games offers free entry for all sports, but requires prior identity registration. Ultras Thailand oppose this and explained three reasons supporting their statement.
The statement from Ultras Thailand reads:
"We will not participate inside the stadium," declares the consensus of Ultras Thailand members nationwide regarding football and futsal at the 2025 SEA Games.
Under a unified will, we firmly stand by our decision not to enter stadiums to cheer for football and futsal at the SEA Games hosted in Bangkok, as long as the Sports Authority of Thailand does not amend measures that violate sports spectators' rights.
Here are the reasons we will neither back down nor concede:
Forcing spectators to register personal data before entering the stadium suppresses basic freedoms of sports fans.
In an era when personal data is easily targeted and leaked, this practice exposes citizens directly to fraud risks. What is more unacceptable is that this measure is not applied equally to VIPs or privileged individuals.
This is not about security but about imposed injustice. Moreover, Cambodia has already withdrawn from football events. Thus, forcing citizens to provide personal data is unreasonable. Thai football fans have the right to refuse giving personal data to organizers.
Allocating the entire away team zone behind the goal unfairly advantages the visiting team and reduces the pressure that Ultras Thailand supporters typically apply from behind the goal in Zone S. This arrangement reflects a misunderstanding of standard international football cheering zone principles.
Nevertheless, we will attend every stadium and match to stand alongside Thai athletes, but we will not step inside the stadium as long as the current measures remain uncorrected.
This refusal to enter stadiums is not a retreat, but a stand to protect the dignity of Thai supporters nationwide against violations of personal data rights and inappropriate cheering zone management.
This is our firm, clear, and unwavering position, upheld with the dignity and ideals of Thai national team supporters.
Ultras Thailand Unity and Passion.
