Do You Agree? “Sarach” Analyzes Why BG Pathum Led but Ended Up Losing to Tampines in the Shopee Cup 2025-26
On 3 Dec 2025 GMT+7, following the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup 2025-26 group stage matchday 3 in Group A, "The Rabbit" BG Pathum United, a top team in Thailand’s League 1 managed by Japanese head coach Masatada Ishii, traveled to face Singapore’s prominent Tampines Rovers. Despite taking a two-goal lead, BG Pathum United lost 2-3.
After the match, Sarach Yuyen, midfielder for BG Pathum United, spoke candidly about his deep disappointment, saying, “It’s something we can hardly accept. Our intensity dropped in the second half. Although we took the lead, we couldn’t maintain the game’s intensity. That’s an area we must improve.”
“In the second half, we shifted to a more defensive approach compared to the first half. Tampines adjusted their tactics quite effectively, and we also lost possession rather easily, which led to conceding goals in the second half.”
