“GULF-AIS Thai Football for Thais” joins in supporting Kasetsart FC to compete in T2, enhancing athletes alongside their education.
The “GULF-AIS Thai Football for Thais” project continues its ongoing support for Thai football. Recently, it provided financial backing to Kasetsart FC, a club representing an educational institution in professional league competitions, aiming to promote athlete potential development and raise club standards for higher-level contests.
On 4 Dec 2025 GMT+7 at Insee Chandrasatit Stadium, Kasetsart University, Ms. Saichon Sapmakudom, Head of Corporate Communications and Government Relations at Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (AIS), represented the “GULF-AIS Thai Football for Thais” project to present financial support to the “Green Emeralds” Kasetsart FC. Dr. Damrong Sriphram, Acting President of Kasetsart University and Chairman of the club's advisory board, received the funds.
Ms. Saichon Sapmakudom, Head of Corporate Communications and Government Relations at AIS, said, “The ‘GULF-AIS Thai Football for Thais’ project aims to strengthen the foundations of Thai football. Supporting Kasetsart FC highlights our focus on teams rooted in educational institutions, which produce quality athletes alongside their studies. We believe this support will be used to develop athletes' capabilities across all aspects, including nutrition, training, and raising team standards, preparing them to advance to Thai League 1 competition in the future.”
“This also continues AIS’s commitment since acquiring the rights to broadcast Thai football. We do not see our role merely as broadcasting matches to screens but are dedicated to genuinely contributing to sustainable development of Thai football. We want to use football as a medium to connect all Thais more closely, foster love and unity, and collectively drive Thai football to grow strong and sustainable together.”
Dr. Damrong Sriphram, Acting President of Kasetsart University, expressed gratitude to the supporters: “On behalf of Kasetsart FC and Kasetsart University, I thank the ‘GULF-AIS Thai Football for Thais’ project for recognizing the importance of grassroots football development. This support not only increases the team’s management budget but also serves as vital encouragement for all athletes and staff as they strive toward the club’s goals.”
Additionally, Dr. Damrong Sriphram mentioned plans to extend cooperation, noting that Kasetsart University has the potential to be a center for sports education and training. Discussions may be held to broaden collaboration with GULF and AIS to develop young Thai athletes both at the club academy level and among students overall, aiming to build a sustainable sports ecosystem and provide talented youth opportunities to grow into quality professional footballers in the future.
Kasetsart FC currently competes in Thai League 2 as a professional football team under the primary care and support of Kasetsart University, focusing on developing quality athletes from the university. Receiving support from leading private sector companies like GULF and AIS will enhance the club’s professional management capabilities, including strengthening the player roster, upgrading facilities, and elevating team management to meet international standards.
