Vision Inaram, an 18-year-old defender from True Bangkok United, admitted to feeling shy during his SEA Games debut but is confident that if given another chance, he will perform better. He also aims to lead Thailand to victory over Singapore and secure a semifinal berth.
On 6 Dec 2025, Vision Inaram, an 18-year-old Thai-Nigerian rising defender from True Bangkok United and Bangkok Christian College, shared his feelings after making his debut in the 33rd SEA Games. He also set a goal to help Thailand's U22 national team win against Singapore in their second group stage match.
The Thai national team started strongly by thrashing Timor-Leste 6-1 in their opening match. Vision was given a chance to play as part of the defense. He admitted feeling a bit nervous but is confident he will improve if given another opportunity.
“I felt a little excited playing in my first match and was somewhat hesitant, but I think if I get to play again, I can do better because I've started to adjust to the atmosphere,” he said.
He also spoke about the difference between playing at the school level and for the national team, noting that the pressure is greater and pointing out that Singapore will be a tough opponent.
“Playing for the national team carries more pressure than school football. The next game against Singapore, they are strong, have solid defense, and follow tactics well. We see them as opponents to watch out for. The coach focuses a lot on systems because Singapore’s defense is resilient. We have practiced accordingly,” he explained.
Vision also revealed advice from Coach Chok Chokthawee Phromrat, a former Thai national team defender, who is instilling decisiveness in defense for the young player.
“Coach Chok told me to clear or intercept the ball decisively—no holding back. Regarding the match against Singapore, he emphasized, ‘We must win, no other option,’” Vision shared.
Finally, he sent a message encouraging fans to come out in full support to help propel the team into the semifinals.
The “War Elephants U22” will play their second group stage match in the 33rd SEA Games against Singapore at Rajamangala Stadium on 11 Dec 2025 at 19:00 GMT+7.
