Six football fans from Pattani died in a crane collapse accident while traveling by train to watch the match against Buriram United.
On 14 January 2026, Buriram United crushed Pattani FC 4-0 at home in the 2025-26 FA Cup round of 16.
However, before the game started, major news broke that six fans traveling by train to support Pattani FC were involved in an accident when a construction crane for the high-speed rail line fell on them during their journey in Nakhon Ratchasima province.
It has now been confirmed that all six fans died, prompting an outpouring of condolences on social media for their passing.
