
The Thailand national team is drawn in Group B of the 2026 ASEAN Championship, set to face Malaysia.
On 15 January 2026 at 16:00, at the RCTI+ studio in Jakarta, Indonesia, the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) held the draw ceremony for the 2026 ASEAN Football Championship (ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026).
The Football Association of Thailand sent Anthony Hudson, head coach of the senior Thailand national team, to participate in the draw ceremony.
The group stage draw results are as follows.
Group A – Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, and either Brunei or Timor-Leste.
Group B – Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Myanmar, and Laos.
The ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026 will follow the traditional format: in the group stage, teams will play home and away matches twice, with the group winner and runner-up advancing to the semifinals. The knockout stage will also be played home and away. The competition will run from 24 July to 26 August 2026.
In this tournament, Thailand is the most successful team, having won the championship seven times—in 1996, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016, 2020, and 2022.
