Election 2026: Tae Mongkolkitti Proposes Policy to Support Thai Football with Annual 2 Billion Baht to Push Thai Football to the World Cup

Election 2026: "Tae Mongkolkitti" unveils a policy to support Thai football with an annual budget of 2 billion baht to drive "Thai football to the World Cup".

On 16 Jan 2025, preparations are underway for the general election of Members of Parliament (MPs) and a referendum to be held simultaneously at the same polling stations on Sunday, 8 Feb 2026, from 08:00 to 17:00 GMT+7.

Recently, Mongkolkitti Suksintharanon, the prime ministerial candidate of the New Alternative Party, posted on Facebook the party's policy to support Thai football to reach the final round of the World Cup, stating: "The government will inject and invest 2 billion baht annually over 2-4 years to support Thai football reaching the World Cup finals. We must compete to win the World Cup."

When asked where the 2 billion baht would come from, Tae Rama 7 replied, "Partly from government funds, partly from private sector contributions."

Tae Mongkolkitti has returned to political prominence after proposing a highly unconventional campaign platform that went viral ahead of the 2026 election, sparking debates about its feasibility, including:

* Tax exemptions under personal income tax forms 90-91 for those with children.

* Pregnant women receive 10,000 baht plus 10,000 baht per month for prenatal care.

* Working-age adults who do 40-100 push-ups daily receive a 10% salary increase.

* Appoint Elon Musk as prime ministerial advisor on Thai space technology.

* Build Central shopping mall branches on Mars, Jupiter, and the Moon.

* Organize trips to take Thai people into space.

* Establish a space force and set up space military bases.

* Anyone selling lottery tickets above 80 baht faces 5 years in prison per ticket.

* Thailand will possess 10 nuclear warheads.

* Promote equality by proposing that women may have up to four husbands.

* Support Thai football with 2 billion baht annually to reach the World Cup finals.
