The Football Association collaborates with BYD to launch the AFC 'B' License coaching course, creating a network of quality coaches aligned with international standards.
The Football Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, together with Revo Automotive Co., Ltd., the official distributor of BYD electric vehicles in Thailand, officially opened the "AFC ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course by BYD" project on Saturday, 31 Jan 2026 GMT+7, at Pattana Sport Club in Si Racha, Chonburi Province, amid an atmosphere filled with energy and commitment from football coaches across the country.
This project is a B License level football coaching development course certified by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It offers 24 coaches from around the country the opportunity to train free of charge, focusing on enhancing the capabilities of coaches in T2 and T3 leagues, as well as advancing youth coaches and amateur players to systematically manage teams according to international standards.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Anthony Hudson, head coach of Thailand’s senior men’s national football team, and “Tong” Kawin Thamsatchanan, legendary Thai national team goalkeeper, who shared their experiences to inspire all 24 trainees. The training was intensive, covering both theoretical and practical sessions on the field. Participants learned modern football concepts, tactics, individual player development, and competitive team management. Prospective AFC ‘B’ License coaches exchanged knowledge, experiences, and tactics earnestly, reflecting their dedication to applying this expertise to develop youth, their clubs, and professional football in Thailand.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Jirasak Chuenarom, Managing Director of Revo Automotive Co., Ltd., expressed BYD’s commitment to supporting Thai football development, stating, "As the main sponsor of the Thai national team and Thai League 2026 season, BYD recognizes the vital role of coaches behind athletes’ success. Being a football coach requires not only playing or watching experience but also training through internationally certified courses and holding the proper license."
“The AFC ‘B’ Coaching Certificate Course by BYD represents a significant step for coaches aiming to advance themselves as head coaches in T2 and T3 leagues, as well as youth and amateur coaches with quality,” said Mr. Jirasak. “This aligns with Revo’s belief that the future of Thai football begins with the people standing on the sidelines.”
BYD continues its mission to energize Thai football, believing that “power” extends beyond electric vehicle technology to include the strength of personnel in sports. The goal is to build a network of 24 quality B License football coaches nationwide to reinforce Thailand’s football structure long-term and sustainably develop it to international levels.
Participants were selected from clubs across Thai League 3, divided into six zones with four coaches per zone, ensuring equal opportunities and knowledge dissemination throughout various regions.
At the conclusion, Mr. Jirasak congratulated all 24 selected coaches and emphasized that each is a key contributor to raising Thai football standards to international recognition. He encouraged them to fully utilize this course to enhance their potential and collectively drive Thai football’s strong and sustainable growth in the future.
