Chanathip, a Thai national footballer from BG Pathum United, opened up after voting in the 2026 general election in Nakhon Pathom province.
On 8 February 2026, after returning to his hometown of Sam Phran, Nakhon Pathom, Chanathip Songkrasin cast his vote in the 2026 general election.
Chanathip told Thairath Sport, "It feels just as warm as always to come back home to vote. I want Thai people to use their right to vote because one vote can change the country."
"Regardless of who forms the government, I hope that the Thai people and the nation will keep moving forward, whether in sports or within each community, to make the country better."
"Regarding sports, I want every association and the government to pay more attention to them. Every athlete has to work hard to make the national team. I hope skilled personnel can come to help teach, otherwise, it’s like rowing a small boat in a narrow pond without ever seeing the wider world."
