Sports Industry Corruption!!

Sports Industry Corruption!!

The 2026 general election concluded this past Sunday.

However, issues regarding transparency—or lack thereof—in vote counting are rapidly spreading like wildfire across the nation.

This reflects on the effectiveness of our Election Commission, showing how the public perceives its image.

Meanwhile, even just calls for 'recounting' in some districts and provinces to clear doubts arise.

The question is, is such a request really that difficult to fulfill?

Eventually, this escalated into demands for a nationwide recount, trending with hashtags all over social media, and now things could get messy!

Especially regarding the dignity and image of the election winner, seen as representing the 'conservative' side.

This could lead to problems with public acceptance later on, issues that ideally should not have occurred.

We hope the Election Commission and all responsible officials won’t let a small issue become a major crisis, like a single drop of honey causing a flood.

People have already affirmed that they can accept losing an election.

But they cannot accept 'electoral fraud' under any circumstances.

Now, turning to the results of this parliamentary election,

the victory clearly belongs to the 'Blue Party' Bhumjaithai, led by 'Prime Minister Mouse' Anutin Charnvirakul, by a landslide.

They received overwhelming support from the people, nearly achieving a landslide.

Leaving behind competitors from the Orange and Red parties far behind.

The next step after the Election Commission's certification is to watch closely the formation of the new government.

Which party alliances will be part of the coalition remains to be seen—stay tuned.

Most importantly, we await the policy announcements that will drive the country forward.

In line with the hopes of the citizens, the true owners and voices of the nation.

Among them, people involved in sports and sports fans eagerly expect the new government’s policies.

They want to see what measures will genuinely address the development of sports in the country.

Recently, the KBU SPORT POLL—the only sports poll in Thailand—conducted by the Human Capital Development Innovation Center at Kasem Bundit University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Ratpong Boonyanuwat,

in collaboration with the Institute for Sports Management and Organizations (WISDOM) and the page Bee Bangpakong - Bebangpakong,

indicated that the majority of people support and emphasize making sports a key government policy dimension.

They stress the importance of appointing ministers responsible for sports who possess knowledge and understanding of sports dimensions and who are honest.

They should have proven, tangible achievements.

At the same time, people want the government to provide adequate and appropriate budgets for sports development.

To support foundational development aligned with changing circumstances.

And to encourage the public to engage in sports and exercise as a sustainable lifestyle.

The most notable finding from the poll is the issue people most want the government to urgently address in sports today.

That is the problem of corruption, which is receiving intense scrutiny.

Especially during Thailand’s hosting of the 33rd SEA Games late last year.

Which was surrounded by various controversies, starting from athletes’ training preparation issues, delayed allowance payments,

up to the competition itself, criticized as a low-quality SEA Games with poor standards.

It was considered the least memorable since the event’s inception.

The root cause of these problems is corruption.

Corruption acts like leeches, clinging to and draining the nation in every sector.

Not sparing even Thailand’s sports industry.

Which seems to be worsening steadily!!!
