Chada Thaiset specifies what qualifications the new Sports Minister must have.
On 20 Feb 2026 GMT+7, at the Anoma Grand Hotel, Ratchaprasong, Bangkok, a press conference was held for youth football at the Black Hunter High School Premier League event, attended by Chada Thaiset, Member of Parliament for Uthai Thani Province and former Deputy Minister of Interior.
During part of the interview, Chada spoke about the minister who will oversee the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
“The person who will lead the Ministry of Tourism and Sports must be modern, globally aware, up-to-date with current events, and knowledgeable about athletes and national-level opportunities to support children.”
He concluded, “More than 90% of children still lack opportunities to showcase their talents, causing the country to lose many gifted youths. I believe it must start with the Department of Physical Education and extend into the Ministry of Sports, which also needs to develop sports and stadiums.”
Previously, there were rumors that Sabida Thaiset, Chada Thaiset’s daughter, might be appointed as Minister of Tourism and Sports after the Bhumjaithai Party recently won the 2026 parliamentary election.
