Guilherme Bissoli delivered a fiery performance by scoring a hat-trick, leading Buriram United to a 6-0 home win over Sukhothai FC.
On 21 Feb 2026 GMT+7, in the BYD CyLion Six League One 2025-26, Buriram United hosted Sukhothai FC. The home team remained top of the table and sought three points to move closer to the championship.
Before the match, Buriram United had just regained form with a 3-1 away win over BG Pathum United, maintaining an 11-point lead at the top. Despite missing Ilhan Fandi and Kenneth Dougall due to injury, there was good news as Supachai Jaided returned to the field and started scoring again.
Meanwhile, Sukhothai FC had gone six matches without a win, most recently drawing 1-1 with Ayutthaya United. They stood 12th in the table, still fighting to avoid relegation. For this game, Sarawut Kalyanbandit returned as a defensive option.
Just three minutes into the game, Sukhothai had the first chance when Joao Paredes tried a shot, but it was saved by Neil Etheridge.
By the 5th minute, Buriram took the lead quickly from a Suphanat Mueanta cross to Eduardo Mancha, who headed the ball into the net for a 1-0 lead.
At the 10th minute, Peter Zulj cut inside and fired a powerful shot, but it was saved by Sukhothai goalkeeper Kittiphan Sansuk. Then at the 27th minute, Sasalak Haiprakhon set up Supachai Jaided for a one-touch shot, which was also saved.
In the 34th minute, from a corner by Peter Zulj, Buriram had three consecutive headers, but Kittiphan made saves each time before the ball reached Phassa Hemviboon, who struck a powerful left-footed shot to extend the lead to 2-0. The first half ended with this score.
Early in the second half, at the 48th minute, Goran Kausic crossed to Guilherme Bissoli, who headed sharply to make it 3-0 for Buriram.
Although Sukhothai tried counterattacks through Surawich Lokawit and John Bajjo multiple times, they lacked finishing precision to score.
At the 87th minute, Narubodin Weerawatnodom broke through and chipped the ball to Bissoli, who scored his second goal of the match. Then in the 90+1 minute, Bissoli scored again with a close-range shot, completing his hat-trick and putting Buriram ahead 5-0.
Not done yet, moments later Peter Zulj flicked the ball to his brother Robert Zulj, who scored with his left foot to make it 6-0 for the home team.
The match ended with Buriram United thrashing Sukhothai FC 6-0 at home, securing three full points to maintain their firm hold on first place and highlighting their strong form in the crucial final stretch of the season.
