"Theerathon" has made his latest move after a severe injury that shook both the Thailand national team and Buriram United.
On 25 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Theerathon Bunmathan, left-back of the Thailand national team and Buriram United club, made a public update after being injured during the AFC Champions League Elite 2025-26 East Zone league stage final match. Buriram United defeated Shanghai Shenhua 2-0 last week.
In that match, Theerathon collided with a Shanghai Shenhua player, resulting in a broken nose with bleeding that forced him to be substituted. Initially, he received immediate hospital treatment and was assessed to require two weeks of rest before light running, with a possible full month off before heading the ball again.
Recently, "Ko Aum" Theerathon Bunmathan posted a photo on his personal social media showing he has returned to light training in Buriram United's gym. He captioned it simply: "Good morning, nice weather, ready to fight back."
It is highly likely that "Ko Aum" will not recover in time to help Buriram United in the ACL Elite round of 16 against Melbourne City from Australia on 3 and 10 March.
However, Theerathon still has a chance to recover fully in time to be selected for the Thailand national team in the decisive final Asian Cup 2027 qualifier match at home against Turkmenistan on 31 March.
