Te Warakorn reveals his reason for staying with Montong Witthaya, confused by the drama over Coach Sakon walking alone carrying his belongings.
On 28 Feb 2026 GMT+7, Te Warakorn opened up about why he chose to remain with Montong Witthaya school's football team instead of following Coach Sakon Kliangprasert, the team's coach known as the “Dream Driver.” He emphasized that it was his own decision without any coercion or payment. He has promised his parents this will be his final school; just one more year to graduate, and he does not want to repeat grade 10.
Te Warakorn shared that he has not yet had a serious conversation with the teachers but expects to do so soon. He confirmed he has not forgotten any of the coaches who have taught him, especially Coach Sakon, who gave him his first chance, and he is always grateful.
Regarding the controversy about Coach Sakon leaving the field alone carrying his things in the dark, which made it seem like he was being forced out, Te Warakorn expressed confusion that the criticism extended to his family. He clarified that he was not at the field on that day but was attending his final physical therapy session of the month.
“I was at home doing physical therapy. I was there and even sent him off. I don’t understand why the drama affected my family so badly. This was my last session this month. I have not forgotten Coach Sakon or any coach who has taught me.”
As for why he chose to stay with Montong Witthaya’s football team, Te Warakorn insisted that no one paid him to stay; he is there purely out of his own heart.
“Who would offer me money to stay? Everyone thinks like that. If I wasn’t here from the heart, do you think I would be happy? Right now, I’m here because I want to be. It has nothing to do with money.”
“At first, when I said I was going, I thought my contract with Port FC meant I had to go. If I didn’t, I thought it would be canceled. Then I called them and they said my status would remain the same wherever I was. So, I decided to stay.”
“I made my decision to stay a long time ago. I promised my family this would be my last school. I have transferred many times before. Thank you everyone who still trusts and supports me. I will do my best. Please keep cheering me on.”
