Tangkiw's father, captain of Mon Thong Wittaya, confirmed he will transfer to follow Coach Sakon, unlike many key players who chose to remain at the original school.
On 1 March 2026, after Coach Sakon Kleangsarert announced he would move to manage the team at Phutthirangsri Phibun School next semester, it was initially said that about 80% of the players, including "Te" Warakorn Changkhian, would likely transfer as well. However, Warakorn ultimately chose not to follow.
However, Tangkiw Pannawat Pongbunyaphat, a key number 14 midfielder of Mon Thong Wittaya's team, which finished as runner-up in the 7 HD CUP 2025, will definitely transfer to follow Coach Sakon.
Tangkiw's father revealed, "During the time Coach Sakon was facing difficulties and needed someone for support, at least he could turn to me or Tang. Tang is now going to university; there won’t be a big, dark-skinned man with a mustache to slap or scold him anymore. There’s no other reason; he wants to stay with Coach Sakon as long as possible. There were no conditions from the start. He is the one who made Tang what he is today. I don’t care about anyone else’s reasons or opinions."
