Reports state that a sports stadium in Phrae province, with a budget of 21 million baht, has been under construction since 2016 and is still unfinished.
On 12 March 2026, there was news about a sports stadium in Muang Phrae District that has been left abandoned and unfinished since construction began in 2016.
An interesting point is that the construction contractor is a company from China.
The CSI LA page posted: “Another project near the Phrae Government Center, about 500 meters away, is the Muang Phrae District Sports Stadium. This project, valued at 21 million baht, started construction in 2016 but has never been put to actual use. The Facebook page 'Dog Guard' exposed this issue three years ago, but it is still abandoned today.”
Previously, the issue of sports stadiums left unfinished for nearly 10 years was raised by Ice Rakchanok Srinok, a Member of Parliament from the People’s Party, who toured an unfinished stadium in Narathiwat province. That stadium was funded with 181 million baht of public tax money but remains incomplete, raising public questions about accountability.
