Danger Risk! Pattaya City Dismantles Football Stadium Roof After Collapse Found - Contractor Abandons Project

The old, collapsed roof of the "Pattaya Football Stadium with 20,000 seats" is being dismantled to proceed with a new build for safety.

On 18 March 2026 GMT+7, the Facebook page "Direct Line to Mayor Beer Pattaya" posted that Pattaya City is preparing to dismantle the large football stadium structure after discovering the roof had collapsed due to the contractor abandoning the project, posing a danger to the public.

The post stated the following:

"Over the past 4 years, the large football stadium project in Pattaya has remained a hope for the people and sports fans. However, due to the original structure not meeting standards—especially the roof that collapsed—and the contractor abandoning the job (the case is currently in court), it cannot be safely used."

"Recently, Pattaya City has decided to completely dismantle the old roof structure to directly solve the problem, preventing any danger to the public, and is preparing to build a new standard-compliant roof to support the large stadium with a capacity of over 20,000 seats."

"Taking over this project is Mayor Beer's commitment to make this stadium 'truly usable' again, safely and beneficial for the people of Pattaya in the long run."

"Although it will require additional time and budget, the most important thing is public safety and building quality infrastructure—not just finishing construction but finishing it to standard."

"Thus, the Pattaya football stadium remains a hope that is being actively pursued so that one day it truly becomes a place for sports, happiness, and opportunity for the entire city."

When a comment read, "Please make sure the stadium accommodates both youth and other citizens. So when youth sports events occur, we might not have to borrow the Takhian Tia stadium anymore. Adding a running track would be even better, so athletes don't have to travel far to Takhian Tia or Sriracha for training. Perhaps it could even host SEA Games athletes. Pattaya's economy would improve. Looking forward to the results."

The "Direct Line to Mayor Beer" page replied, "Certainly, there will be a running track."
