Yotsakorn Burapha: From Rising Star to Thailand National Team Striker

Yotsakorn Burapha opens up about his journey after returning from abroad, gaining confidence, and aiming for the senior national team.

On 18 March 2026, the Thailand national team is preparing to host Turkmenistan in the final Group D qualifier of the 2027 Asian Cup on 31 March at 19:30. The match will be broadcast live on Thairath TV Channel 32, www.thairath.co.th/tv/live, the Thairath Sport Facebook page, and YouTube: Thairath Sport.https://www.youtube.com/live/ySpIZhNboVk

Thairath Sport's team had the opportunity to interview 21-year-old Thailand national team striker Yotsakorn Burapha, who was called up to the senior squad following Suphanat Mueanta's injury.

Yotsakorn discussed various topics about the mindset that brought him to where he is today.

"It was a crucial period that allowed me to learn and develop greatly. I gained new knowledge and stepped out of my comfort zone. Living abroad isn't easy because you have to fight through daily life challenges. For some, if they don't fight, it's as if they gain nothing from the experience."

He also spoke about the time before returning to Thailand, which coincided with the SEA Games, saying, "Before coming back, there was the 2025 SEA Games. I prepared myself fully and then returned to perform well at the Games, which boosted my confidence."

Yotsakorn sees his performance in that tournament as a key factor that strengthened his confidence and prepared him to take on further challenges in his football career.

However, moving from a rising star to the senior team remains a significant challenge. Yotsakorn believes, "The main factors aren't just skill but also discipline, attitude, and mindset that must grow together to reach the goals set in a professional football career. Playing abroad is my goal. I’m open to any league, but I want the chance to play and to be genuinely wanted by the club."
