Undeterred despite omission! Teerasil reveals conversation with “Hudson” after missing Thailand national team roster for Asian Cup decider.
On 18 Mar 2026, Thailand national team forward Teerasil Dangda spoke out after being left off the latest War Elephants squad. He confirmed he was not disappointed by the outcome and had discussed the situation thoroughly with Anthony Hudson, head coach of Thailand’s men’s national football team. He also asked fans to continue supporting the War Elephants as they aim to qualify for the Asian Cup final stage.
Teerasil said, “Personally, I’m not disappointed because I have already talked with the coach about the reasons behind the decision. It’s a normal part of team management, and I’m happy for all the younger players who made the national team this time.”
“The staff clearly informed me of the situation. Although I was on the initial list of 50 players, when the final 23 were selected, it just wasn’t my time. I accept the decision and look at it positively as an important opportunity for other players to get on the field and prove their abilities.”
“I believe every player in the Thai national team knows how important this match is. I don’t want to say it’s pressure; rather, it’s an honor. We see that our national team must advance to the Asian level and improve ourselves. Whoever gets the chance should give their best. I hope we can make it to the final round of the Asian Championship.”
For the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, Group D matchday 6, Thailand will face Turkmenistan at Rajamangala Stadium on 31 Mar 2026 at 19:30. The match will be broadcast live on Thairath TV Channel 32, the Thairath website, Thairath TV and Thairath Sport Facebook pages, and Thairath Sport YouTube channel.
