A sister posted about her brother after he collapsed and died while playing football in Phuket Province.
On 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, a tragic event shook the southern football circuit in Phuket Province when a footballer suffered cardiac arrest on the field and later died.
The player was identified as Veeranan, 45, wearing a blue shirt with orange stripes and blue shorts with orange stripes, who fainted and collapsed on the field, shocking teammates and spectators.
Facebook user Punika Thamphasophon, the deceased's sister, posted a heartfelt tribute, saying she cannot accept or come to terms with the loss.
Her Facebook post to her brother read, "Why did you leave so quickly like this? You left before I could even come to terms with it. From now on, no one will tease me with daily six-pack selfies, no one will urge me to exercise more often, no one will call me ‘Booddd’ or give my niece the nickname ‘Pig Legs.’ Even now, I can't force myself to stop crying. I'll try to be strong to make your final ceremony perfect. Don’t worry. I wish you peace in the next life, playing football in heaven. Thank you for everything you gave me and my two nieces. Rest well, my eldest brother. I promise to stop crying so much, but right now, I just can't. 16-3-69".
