On 18 Mar 2026 GMT+7, in the Thailand Cup 2025/26 quarterfinals (League Cup), Pattani FC, third in Thai League 2, hosted defending champions Buriram United, leaders of Thai League 1, at Rainbow Stadium.
In the first half, Buriram United took a 2-0 lead. Ghanaian forward Kingsley Schindler scored in the 33rd minute, followed by Thailand national striker Supachai Jaided, who beautifully scored from a long-range counterattack in the 37th minute.
In the second half, "The Thunder Castle" extended their lead with Chinnapat Liao’s goal in the 67th minute. In stoppage time at 90+3 minutes, Pattani nearly scored through Marlon da Silva, but the goal was disallowed due to a handball during the charge.
After 90 minutes, Buriram United won 3-0 away at Pattani FC, advancing to the semifinals and remaining on track to compete for five titles: Thai League 1, Chang FA Cup, Thailand Cup, ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup, and the AFC Champions League Elite 2025/26.
