Anthony Hudson, head coach of the Thailand national team, gave an interview after the players reported for duty ahead of their match against Turkmenistan on 31 March.
On 31 March 2026, the Thailand men's national football team reported at the Novotel Future Park Rangsit hotel around 12:30 PM before training in the evening at the BG Pathum United Training Center 3 in Pathum Thani Province. They are preparing to face Turkmenistan in the final Group D qualifier of the 2027 Asian Cup on 31 March, with live coverage on Thairath TV Channel 32, www.thairath.co.th/tv/live, Facebook pages Thairath TV and Thairath Sport, and YouTube channel Thairath Sport. Kickoff is at 19:30 from Rajamangala Stadium.
Anthony Hudson, head coach of Thailand, said, “We have analyzed the opponent's game thoroughly, clarifying how Thailand must approach facing them. We have selected the appropriate players and are relieved that no major issues arose last week that we couldn't handle. Overall, I am satisfied with the squad, which blends experienced players and young talents capable of raising the team's level.”
“We analyzed both broadly and in detail to understand every player's perspective. Reviewing about 12 to 13 games, we observed Turkmenistan’s playing style at home and away, and followed Arkadag FC, which has many national team players and competes in the Champions League. Our game plan is ready for this challenge.”
“It's a positive experience to face such pressure, and it gives young players the chance to participate in matches like this. Match night will be special for everyone.”
“Pressure is inevitable, but we will do our best to bring out the players’ full potential and readiness. I am confident we have talented players who can handle these situations.”
However, the Thailand national team will not play official warm-up matches but will face North Bangkok University FC from Thai League 3.
Anthony Hudson said, “From our last camp against Singapore, we lost 2-3 days to warm-up matches while knowing we were not ready and had to worry about players’ fitness. For this reason, we want to avoid such issues to ensure the team is fully prepared for competition.”
“Calling up these young players is not just for show but based on their strong club performances. We may have some players in mind, but selections can change depending on their training form.”
