“Tae Mongkolkitti” drove to cheer the Thai national team facing Turkmenistan, urging Anutin’s government to fix the high fuel prices; failure to do so means wanting the people to die. The tags are: [Thai politics, fuel prices, national football team, government criticism]
On 31 Mar 2026 GMT+7, the atmosphere outside Rajamangala Stadium was especially lively when Mr. Tae Mongkolkitti appeared wearing a Manchester United jersey to watch and support the "War Elephants," Thailand’s national team, in the final Group D match of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers against Turkmenistan.
In this match, the Thai national team had no option but to "win" to secure their ticket to the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Tae Mongkolkitti rallied, “Last time we lost. This time we must win—no excuses. Losing would damage our reputation. I expect Thailand to win by at least 1-2 goals. Even though there are many fans, we cannot underestimate Turkmenistan; they are strong opponents too.”
He urged the government to seriously promote football, especially by providing the football association with annual funding of about 2 billion baht (1.5 billion from the private sector and 500 million from the government). If the team reaches the finals, players should receive 2 billion baht in bonuses; if they win, rewards could be as high as 10 billion baht to motivate full effort.
As for wearing a Manchester United jersey to support the national team, he said it was because he wants to buy Manchester United and make it owned by Thai people.
He also spoke about the high fuel price situation, dividing it into two parts:
1. There was oil stockpiling in early March, then releasing it at high prices.
2. The crude oil price bought two months ago was about 52-53 US dollars per barrel, averaging about 10-12 baht, which, after calculations, should be sold at about 26-27 baht per liter.
But we reference Singapore’s market, which raises the price by more than 10 baht. Other countries like China, Japan, or Indonesia do not fully base their prices on this. The high fuel prices impact product costs and cause distress to farmers nationwide. The government cannot let this continue; it is like abandoning the people to fate.
Proposal to the government:
If these measures are not taken, it means the government wants the people to die.
