On 22 December 2025, the latest FIFA world rankings for 11 ASEAN nations were summarized after the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) released the March 2026 rankings, marking the first FIFA international match window of 2026.

It was found that the Thailand national team rose 3 places from 96th to 93rd in the world rankings after beating Turkmenistan 2-1 to win Group D in the third round of qualifiers, securing a spot in the final tournament of the 2027 Asian Cup.
