Chonnachak Chidchob Hopes Buriram Closes the Deal to Win 11th Thai League Title in Away Match Against Ratchaburi

Chonnachak Chidchob hopes Buriram United will close the deal and claim their 11th Thai League title in the away game against Ratchaburi.

On 2 April 2026, Buriram United is preparing to visit Ratchaburi FC on Saturday, 4 April, in the Thai League 2025/26. A victory will immediately secure their 11th top-tier league championship in Thailand.

Recently, Chonnachak Chidchob, son of Newin Chidchob, shared his thoughts about Saturday's match against Ratchaburi, expressing the desire to close the deal and win the championship as soon as possible.

“My father (Newin Chidchob) has done an excellent job on the field. I hope the next match (away at Ratchaburi) will secure the Thai League championship.”

“Every year, we aim to finish the Thai League as early as possible because we compete in many tournaments, including two domestic cups, the Shopee Cup, and the AFC Champions League. Securing the league early allows us to rotate players more, letting key players focus on cup matches and knockout games.”

Additionally, Chonnachak spoke about youth football at Buriram: “For all our youth teams, we want the players to get match experience and be able to handle pressure when moving up to the senior team, whether playing home or away, including off-field matters.”

“Three to four years ago, we hardly played school football at all. But over the past 1-2 years, we lacked consistent games, so we increased school football participation. This helped us set clear goals. Our aim is to show the difference between academy football and school football. I spoke with my coach; when I was in England, the school was top in sports. My older brother, Chaichanak, was scouted by Southampton for two years, watched weekly. When he played right wing against Luke Shaw on left wing, even before the match, we knew it would be tough. School football respects academy football, but in Thailand, we haven’t shown enough difference yet. We want to prove that with different budgets, attention, and dedication, the difference must be evident.”

“I want more academy football tournaments to be organized, making football popular like the 7-Color League. The current buzz around Mon Thong Wittaya school football might shift to school and academy football, benefiting all Thai football. The Thai national team under coach Zico rose due to this momentum. From now on, academy football must compete harder and with more passion. Mon Thong Wittaya became famous because of the media, and the Thai national team under coach Zico too. Success creates buzz because everyone talks about it. If we keep doing this, Thai football will grow stronger—not just the Thai League and national team, but also youth football. I urge everyone—schools, academies—to pay more attention and love youth football more.”
