Eric Kahl has a high chance of playing for the Thailand national team this September. The Football Association aims to arrange friendlies against teams ranked in the world's top 100.
On 3 April 2026, the Football Association is preparing to meet with Eric Kahl, a 24-year-old Thai-Swedish left-back, to discuss him joining the Thailand national team after they qualified for the 2027 Asian Cup final round.
Kahl previously requested time to decide following talks with "Madame Pang" Nualphan Lamsam and some paperwork has already been processed. If everything aligns, there is a chance to see the 24-year-old player feature for Thailand in friendly matches during the FIFA window this September.
For the friendlies, the Football Association has targeted only teams ranked within the world’s top 100, regardless of whether the matches are played at home or away.
Additionally, besides these friendlies, the Thailand national team has scheduled tournaments this year including the ASEAN Cup, FIFA ASEAN Cup, and King's Cup, which will be challenges for head coach Anthony Hudson.
