Thailand's national football team has finalized two opponents for the June 2026 FIFA Day program.
On 10 April 2026, Thailand's national team, ranked 93rd in the world, confirmed their schedule for the June 2026 FIFA Day after receiving interest from several countries wanting to arrange friendlies. This follows their qualification for the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia.
Initially, China invited Thailand for a friendly match. Then Tajikistan and Kuwait also contacted the Football Association of Thailand. This gave the "War Elephants" multiple options before deciding, with a preference to face teams ranked within FIFA's top 100 globally.
Recently, the team of Madam Pang Nawaporn Lamsam, president of the Football Association of Thailand, told sports media that Thailand has secured two opponents for the June 2026 FIFA Day friendlies as follows:
(Home) Kuwait national team - ranked 134th in the world.
(Away) China national team - ranked 94th in the world.
Both Kuwait and China have qualified for the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup. However, the exact match dates have not been officially announced yet, awaiting further details from the Football Association of Thailand.
