Nha Chuay Reveals 3 Philosophies Leading Sisaket to Promotion to Thai League After 14 Years - Message to Buriram

Somchai Chuayboonchum, coach of Sisaket, revealed three philosophies that helped the team earn promotion to Thai League 1.

On 26 Apr 2026 GMT+7, Sisaket United hosted and defeated Songkhla FC 5-1 in the final match of the 2025/26 Thai League 2 season, earning 60 points from 34 games. This victory secured their promotion to Thai League 1 for the 2026/27 season, becoming the second team promoted after Rasi Salai United and marking their return to Thai League 1 after 14 years.

After the match, “Nha Chuay” Somchai Chuayboonchum, coach of Sisaket United, told Thairath Sport, “I’m happy; this is what I hoped for. When I took over and the team had 12 points deducted, we missed promotion. This year we made up for that. We achieved what the chairman requested. At first, I thought about stepping away, but the chairman asked me to stay and help. I thank him and the fans for their support. I also invite fans to watch next season as we will have two teams from Sisaket in Thai League 1. It will be a joy for the people of Sisaket.”

“These are the philosophies I instilled in this team.”

“1. Fitness and physical condition. We still have some issues; some players may not fully understand this philosophy yet.”

“2. We must not concede goals easily.”

“3. At home, we must defeat our opponents. We aim to lose as little as possible or not at all.”

“If I stay with Sisaket next year, I believe we can compete with many Thai League teams. I’m confident. I have almost 10 years of experience with teams like Samut Songkhram and others. Next year, I believe we will avoid relegation and achieve our goals.”

“Next year, there will be a big match: Sisaket versus Rasi Salai. It’s unbelievable and not easy to happen, but we must acknowledge Rasi Salai’s strength as they finished first while we came second. Even though we will meet, fans might not know whom to support. I love the fans and want to succeed. This is the fourth team I have promoted from Thai League 2 to Thai League 1, and I hope to make it the fifth (laughs). Thai League 2 isn’t too difficult, but I want to try for a year if the chance arises to manage in Thai League 1 again. I once promoted Nongbua but did not continue coaching them in Thai League 1. Next year, I will see if I have what it takes to compete in Thai League 1. Buriram is ready.”
