Adrian Siam Skogmar, a Swedish-Thai footballer, has denied ever being contacted to play for the Thailand national team, contradicting earlier reports that he agreed to join the 'War Elephants'.
On 5 May 2026, reports emerged that the Thailand national team was in talks with several mixed-heritage players to strengthen the squad for upcoming competitions.
One of these players was Adrian Siam Skogmar, a footballer of Thai-Swedish descent.
Recently, Skogmar told FotballDirekt that there was no truth to the reports. He said neither he nor the Football Association of Thailand had been in contact, suggesting it may be wishful thinking about him.
“I have seen the news about talks to play for the Thailand national team, but I can say there is little truth to it because I have not been contacted by the Football Association of Thailand. I wonder where they got this news from; it might just be expectations about me,” he said.
“Many people really believe it; some even claim it is confirmed that I have chosen to play for the Thailand national team.”
