Newin Apologizes to Buriram Fans for Missing One Championship, Clearly States Future Goals

Newin Chidchob apologizes to Buriram United fans for the team’s performance falling short of expectations, missing out on one championship, and clearly reveals the goals from now on.

On 10 May 2026, “Big Newin” Newin Chidchob, chairman of the "Thunder Castle" Buriram United Football Club, apologized to the club’s fans after the team’s performance did not meet expectations, having missed out on one championship, and he clearly stated the goals moving forward.

Big Newin stated, “Championship day—today we celebrate the title together. Chang Arena is the home of champions. I will strive to make the final match of every season a time to celebrate Buriram United’s victories before the day of declaring triumph and making history in modern Thai football by winning the 11th title and achieving four consecutive championships.”

“We—meaning the fans, supporters, management team, and every player who has been part of Buriram PEA, Buriram FC, and Buriram United—have all worked very hard. We have given everything to build Buriram United and supported the club through sweat, tears, and heartbreak—both on the pitch and from criticism that has hurt our spirits and morale.”

“Every day for Buriram United is a battle—on the training ground, in matches, and off the field—amid tremendous pressure because the goal is to win championships. With the support of fans and sponsors and the dedication of every player, Buriram United has advanced, overcoming all obstacles to stand here today.”

“Every ticket, every jersey, every souvenir, every advertisement board, and all merchandise on the shirts and surrounding the stadium are sources of encouragement and support that keep us from ever giving up or losing heart. The seats in the stadium are never empty; the cheers, applause, music, and thunderous drums are Buriram United’s lifeblood, driving us to push ourselves to stand taller every day, month, and year.”

“Therefore, Buriram United’s goals have never stayed still. The hunger for victory and the drive to reach higher levels are in every breath of everyone at Buriram United. Today is a day worthy of celebrating the success of all Buriram United members: 11 Thai League titles. And today, we also announce our goal to win the 12th Thai League championship together.”

“However, I must apologize to all Buriram fans that this year’s performance did not meet our goals. We lost one championship—the League Cup. There are still two championships left: the FA Cup and the ASEAN Cup, which we must win to repay the support of our fans and sponsors. Today's championship celebration is just the beginning of Buriram United’s championship season. More victories and celebrations are to come for all of us.”
