Kawin Thamsatchanan and Datsakorn Thonglao Share Their Feelings After Muangthong Uniteds Relegation from Thai League to Thai League 2

Kawin Thamsatchanan and Datsakorn Thonglao share their feelings after seeing Muangthong United relegated from the Thai League down to Thai League 2.

On 10 May 2026, Kawin Thamsatchanan and Datsakorn Thonglao expressed their feelings after witnessing Muangthong United, known as the Kirin Phayong, relegated from the Thai League to Thai League 2 following a 0-3 away defeat to the Fire Bat, Sukhothai FC, at Thalay Luang Stadium. This marks the club's first relegation since their promotion in 2009.

Kawin Thamsatchanan, who was a longtime goalkeeper for the club during his playing days, said, "Today is not the end of Muangthong United. It is a difficult time, but we must accept the reality. I still believe Muangthong can come back again if we dare to adapt and start anew with the club's spirit and the unwavering love of the fans. I send my support to the club where I grew up and which has always meant a lot to me."

Meanwhile, Datsakorn Thonglao, who was once the team's captain, leading them to many important championships, and who has returned to serve as a staff coach and assistant coach, briefly but meaningfully stated, "We will come back."
