Muangthong United was fined an additional 90,000 baht after their fans ignited flares, following the club's relegation from Thai League 1.
On 13 May 2026, following Muangthong United’s 0-3 away loss to Sukhothai FC, the club finished 14th in the Thai League 2025/26 season, confirming their relegation.
However, after the match, Muangthong United fans lit flares while players stood for two minutes to thank supporters in the away fans’ stands.
The disciplinary decision found that Muangthong United’s fans lighting flares at the competition venue was inappropriate and violated the regulations under Chapter 3, Section 2, Clause 4.3, resulting in a 60,000 baht fine.
Because Muangthong United had previously been penalized for the same offense on 24 October 2025, constituting a repeated violation under the same regulation within the same season, an additional fine of up to half the original penalty can be imposed according to the rules. Therefore, an extra 30,000 baht fine was added, bringing the total fine to 90,000 baht.
