After the "Thunder Castle" Buriram United were down to 9 players because Guilherme Bissoli and Goran Kauric received red cards in the 102nd and 115th minutes respectively, they lost at home to Johor Darul Ta'zim 1-2 after extra time. However, with a 4-3 aggregate over two legs, they advanced to the final of the ASEAN Club Championship Shopee Cup 2025-26 to face another strong Malaysian team, Selangor.
Recently, "Sotai" Karuna Chidchob, vice president of Buriram United, posted on his personal Facebook, stating, "They are nothing but cheaters."
"Sotai" did not specify who he was referring to, but it was clear he was very upset.
Later, Sotai posted again saying, "We only had 9 players left, yet we still made it to the final!!!"
