On 23 May 2026, experienced and fiery player Ekkachai Samre expressed his emotions after leading Pattani FC to victory over Nongbua Pitchaya FC in a penalty shootout, securing their first-ever promotion to the Thai League since the club's founding 17 years ago.
Looking back at that match, after 120 minutes Pattani FC won 2-1 against Nongbua Pitchaya FC, but the aggregate score over two legs was tied at 3-3, leading to a decisive penalty shootout. Pattani was more accurate in penalties, winning 5-4, making the total aggregate 8-7 and clinching the final spot for the 2026-27 Thai League season.
Recently, Ekkachai Samre said, “I am very happy. As you can see, the fans stayed firmly throughout the game, filling the stadium.
