The "Thunder Castle" Buriram United avenged their previous encounter against Malaysia's well-known Selangor FC. Despite conceding first, they came from behind to win 2-1, securing a 3-1 aggregate victory and capturing the Shopee Cup for the second consecutive time.
Recently, Newin Chidchob commented on Buriram United's second championship this season, following their Thai League 1 title: "The second championship, GU, ASEAN champions twice. We've done it. Thai League is the top league in ASEAN. Buriram United #FightTogether, ChampionTogether."
