Newin Chidchob, chairman of Buriram United Football Club, has made a decision after his club secured three championships this season.
Following Buriram United’s 1-0 extra-time victory over PT Prachuap FC to claim the 2025-26 Chang FA Cup, the team has won its third title this season, adding to the Thai League and Shopee Cup championships.
However, Newin Chidchob said he judged this year’s performance as falling short of their goals after the team was eliminated in the AFC Champions League Elite quarterfinals by Shabab Al Ahli from the United Arab Emirates. He vowed the team, known as the Thunder Castle, will be stronger next season.
Newin said, “The third trophy, the eighth Chang FA Cup title, brings the Chang FA Cup back to Chang Arena for our fans to enjoy and cherish as promised.”
“Although we won three trophies, this year’s performance did not meet our goals. We lost one championship and must improve by strengthening and enhancing Buriram United’s capabilities to be more aggressive, decisive, and resilient.”
“Next season, we will be stronger and better prepared to defend all our titles and to reach beyond the quarterfinals in the ACL Elite.”
“Thank you to all the fans who supported and fought alongside us throughout the year. We will meet again in August 2026 with a stronger, more skilled Buriram United that will be even more exciting to cheer for.”
