Thailand National Team Could Reach Highest FIFA Ranking in Over 18 Years by Beating Kuwait and China

The Thai Elephant Warriors are in contention for their best FIFA ranking in 18 years and 3 months!

As of 5 June 2026, the Thailand national team is ranked 93rd in the FIFA rankings with 1,252.14 points.

Thailand is scheduled to play international friendlies against Kuwait (ranked 134th) on 5 June at Pathum Thani Stadium, and against China (ranked 94th) on 9 June at Jinhua Sports Center Stadium.

If Thailand beats Kuwait, they will gain 3.63 points; a win over China would add another 4.96 points. Winning both matches would bring their total FIFA points to 1,260.73, potentially moving them up to 90th place, overtaking Benin, which currently has 1,258.98 points.

This would mark Thailand's best FIFA ranking in 18 years and 3 months, with their last peak at 90th place in March 2008.

The senior Thailand national team's match schedule for June is as follows:

Thailand vs. Kuwait on 5 June 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at Pathum Thani Stadium.

China vs. Thailand on 9 June 2026 at 6:35 p.m. (Thailand time) at Jinhua Sports Center Stadium.
