Surachart Sareepim opens up after playing for the Thailand national team at age 40 in a FIFA Day friendly match that ended in a 2-2 draw with Kuwait.
Surachart Sareepim, a 40-year-old experienced player, shared his feelings after coach Anthony Hudson gave him the chance to play in the FIFA Day friendly match against Kuwait, which ended in a 2-2 draw last Friday.
"Honestly, it was really exhausting (laughs). I've never experienced a cramp in the first half while playing football before."
"I gave it my all because opportunities like this don't come often. From the moment I learned I was called up to the team this round, there was only one command in my mind—to give my best. When given the chance to play, I had to give it everything. I'm very happy today to have had the opportunity to play for the Thailand national team."
"Before this, I mostly watched the Thailand national team on TV or, if I had the chance, I would go watch matches at the stadium. It's completely different to be on the field myself, playing and contributing to achieve the team's goals. Being part of that is an incredible atmosphere."
Surachart spoke to the media of BG Pathum United, his current club.
