Following the Thailand national football team's 0-0 draw away to China in the June 2026 FIFA Day friendly match, held at the Jinhua Sports Center Stadium in Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China.
Natthapong Sairiya, Thailand's defender, stated that extensive team communication helped them adapt well despite limited practice time. He confirmed that everyone gave their best, aiming to win the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
“First, I want to thank everyone on the team and the fans who came to support us. Today was a tough match because we were visiting China, but we managed to secure a result. Everyone gave their all,” he said.
“We had little practice time since the league has ended, and some players lacked match fitness, so it felt like starting over. But the increased communication helped us better understand our defensive game.”
Regarding the 2026 ASEAN Cup, he said, “We must win—just that. We will give it our all and do our best.”
Following this, the Thailand national team will immediately return home, arriving at Don Mueang International Airport on 10 June 2026 at 21:20 GMT+7. The coaching staff will hold a meeting to prepare for the next competition, the ASEAN Hyundai Cup 2026, scheduled for July to August 2026.
