On 22 June 2026, the Football Association of Thailand under Royal Patronage confirmed the three opposing teams that have accepted invitations to participate in the 52nd King's Cup football tournament. This event will be an International 'A' Match held according to the FIFA calendar from 9 to 17 November 2026.
- Thailand national team, ranked 94th in the world.
- Oman national team, ranked 79th in the world.
- Bahrain national team, ranked 92nd in the world.
- Tajikistan national team, ranked 101st in the world.
The King's Cup football trophy was graciously bestowed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great since 1968 (B.E. 2511). Since the 48th tournament in 2022 (B.E. 2565), His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn has been the patron of the King's Cup trophy. This tournament is currently the oldest football competition in Thailand and the second oldest in Asia.
Four provinces have officially submitted bids to host the tournament, meeting the Football Association's prior conditions requiring basic readiness according to international match standards set by the organizing committee. The provinces bidding are:
1. Sisaket Province: Sisaket Provincial Stadium.
2. Khon Kaen Province: Khon Kaen Provincial Administrative Organization Stadium.
3. Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province: Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Stadium.
4. Rayong Province: Rayong Central Stadium and PTT Rayong Stadium.
Currently, the selection committee is reviewing each province's readiness to host the event according to the requirements before announcing the final host. The announcement will be made at the FA THAILAND AWARDS 2025/26 event on Tuesday, 7 July 2026, starting at 17:00 at The Grand Fourwings Hotel on Srinakarin Road, Bangkok. The committee is carefully considering aspects including football quality, economic impact, tourism promotion, and football enthusiasm.
