On 28 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Madame Pang Nualphan Lamsam, President of the Football Association of Thailand, exercised her right to vote for the Bangkok governor. She went to polling station 7 at Government Savings Bank 2, near Sukhumvit 39, amid a lively atmosphere of Bangkok voters and media covering the event. She encouraged everyone to vote before the polls closed at 17:00.
Madame Pang said, "Today I came to vote as a Bangkok resident and want to encourage everyone eligible to exercise their voting rights. Bangkok is not only the capital of Thailand but also one of the world's important cities. If we elect a good governor, we will have a better city and improved quality of life."
"Many people joke about why I’m not running for governor myself. It’s because I’m currently president of the Football Association, and what I want to see is more spaces for exercise and sports. Health is very important to me. I also want the governor to focus on safety, including accident prevention and natural disaster protection. I support whoever becomes governor in their work."
The Bangkok governor election on 28 June 2026 GMT+7 featured 14 candidates. Voters used two ballots: one for governor and one for members of the Bangkok Metropolitan Council.
