Nakhon Sawan Sports Club soared to the U13 championship, while Wachiralai won the U15 GLO Cup 2026 Northern Zone on penalties to claim the title.

The 8-a-side youth football competition for the 2026 GLO Cup Northern Zone qualifiers concluded officially in Lamphun province after matches held from 30 June to 5 July 2026. Four teams in each age group under 13 and under 15 qualified from the region to the national finals, along with the selection of players for the GLO STAR project representing the Northern Zone.

Over six days, youth teams from across the Northern region competed fiercely, with 48 teams in each age group, involving more than 1,000 participants including players, coaches, and guardians. The event was marked by determination, dreams, and the development of Thai youth potential through sport.

The final day was lively, with Colonel Noon Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, presiding over the awards ceremony and congratulating the athletes and teams advancing to the national finals.

In the U13 final, Nakhon Sawan Municipal Sports School defeated Prince Royal's College 3-1 to claim the Northern Zone championship decisively. In the U15 final, Wachiralai United drew 0-0 with Thepsirin Chiang Mai School, then won 3-2 on penalties to secure the Northern title.

Colonel Noon Sansanakom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, said, "The GLO Cup 2026 has now completed competitions across all seven regions. Throughout the events, we have witnessed many talented Thai youths ready to become professional footballers in the future. The Northern Zone competition showcased the quality of players, coaches, and well-prepared clubs."

"What is impressive is that the children developed not only their skills but also learned discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and how to accept wins and losses. These values are what sports impart to youth and are the core of the GLO Cup project that the Government Lottery Office has continuously promoted."

"Next, the best representatives from all seven regions will compete in the national finals, which we believe will be the most intense competition of the year as every team has passed tough regional tests. Meanwhile, the GLO STAR project will be a crucial step in identifying outstanding talent nationwide to gain international training opportunities and inspire future generations of Thai youth."

Meanwhile, the GLO STAR project selected an additional 12 outstanding youth players from the Northern Zone competition for national-level selection, divided equally into six players for the U13 and six for the U15 categories.
