GLO Cup 2026 Draws Nationwide to Find Top Thai Youth Teams and Second Generation GLO STAR

The opportunity has arrived to turn dreams into reality! GLO Cup 2026 holds a nationwide draw to find the top Thai youth teams and the second generation of GLO STAR.

On 9 July 2026, the Government Lottery Office (GLO), together with the Thai Football Development Foundation, held a press conference and draw ceremony for the 8-a-side youth football competition, GLO Cup 2026 Thailand Championship. Major Thanon Sansanakhom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, presided over the event, accompanied by senior executives, Air Force Group Captain Piyapong Piw-on, Chairman of the Thai Football Development Foundation, and national footballers Teerasil Dangda and Chanathip Songkrasin, along with players from the GLO STAR 2025 project. They discussed the project’s success and preparations ahead of the Thailand Championship at the Grand Hall 2 of Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok.

Major Thanon Sansanakhom, Director of the Government Lottery Office, revealed that the GLO Cup 2026 has completed its journey through all 7 regions of the country. Over the past months, the evident potential of Thai youth nationwide—from schools, clubs, and communities—has been impressive.

All have been given equal opportunity to showcase their talents on the same stage, allowing Thai children to learn through sports about discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and respect for rules—fundamental principles for growth both as athletes and as quality citizens.

"The Thailand Championship stage will bring together the best teams from all 7 regions, promising an exciting and closely followed event. This year, every team is well prepared. Meanwhile, the GLO STAR program will take another important step in identifying outstanding players to offer the chance to develop their skills with Avispa Fukuoka Football Club in Japan, inspiring Thai youth to pursue their dreams under the concept of 'Opportunities That Can Actually Happen.'"

Air Force Group Captain Piyapong Piw-on, Chairman of the Thai Football Development Foundation and head of the competition, said that following the competitions across all 7 regions this year, the quality of youth players has clearly improved. Many teams have better systems, players have a greater understanding of the game, are more confident in decision-making, and show more distinctive individual skills than in previous years. The Thailand Championship will be the toughest test, as all teams have passed through regional competitions.

Teerasil Dangda, Thai national footballer, said, "I believe all the young players who have reached the Thailand Championship are already winners to some extent because they have endured tough competitions over many months. The most important thing is to enjoy playing football and show your full potential."

Chanathip Songkrasin, Thai national footballer, said he wants all young players to be brave in playing and expressing their skills. Participating in GLO Cup or GLO STAR could be the beginning of a professional football career. The key is to keep developing yourself and hold onto your dreams, as opportunities can truly change our lives."

The Thailand Championship will take place from 29 July to 2 August 2026 at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang Stadium and Suphachalasai Stadium. On 29-30 July, group stage matches will feature 32 teams divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each, playing round-robin to select the top 2 teams from each group to advance to the 16-team knockout stage. On 31 July, the round of 16 and quarterfinals will be contested to find the final 4 teams in each age group, who will then compete in the semifinals and finals on 2 August at Suphachalasai Stadium.

Additionally, on 1 August 2026, the GLO STAR project will select players from the Thailand Championship who have been chosen from all 7 regions, narrowing the group to 15 players per age group to enter the GLO STAR Camp. From there, only 3 players per age group will be selected to receive the opportunity to train with Avispa Fukuoka Football Club.

in Fukuoka, Japan for six months, under the concept of "Opportunities That Can Actually Happen."
