The Laos national team coach hopes to secure a good result in the opening match against Thailand at the 2026 ASEAN Championship.
On 24 July 2026, at a pre-match press conference, it was announced that the Thailand men's national football team will compete in the 2026 ASEAN Championship group stage, Group B, opening match against Laos on 25 July at 20:00 Thailand time.
Vladika Grujic, coach of the Laos national team, said, "We face a strong team like Thailand. We have prepared to counter them. We know Thailand is one of the best teams in ASEAN, but we are playing at home with fans supporting us. Anything is possible. We will do everything we can to achieve a good result."
"I don't want to talk much about our tactics here, but my players know what to do against Thailand to secure a positive result."
